When you bake this delicious orange cake, the delicate aroma spreads across the kitchen and even the entire house teasing everyone with flavors of oranges, vanilla, and cinnamon. If you try this cake once, it will become one of your favorites. It has a very delicate taste and it’s easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 5 1/2 oz softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- zest and juice of one big orange
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- additionally: 1 Tbsp softened butter and 1 Tbsp to grease the baking pan
Cooking Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 355F.
- In a stand mixer, whisk softened butter and sugar until fluffy and whitened.
- While continuing wicking, add eggs one at a time.
- Add finely grated orange zest and orange juice, vanilla extract. Wisk well.
- Sift into a bowl all dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix them together.
- In small portions, add the dry mixture to the stand mixer bowl while continue mixing until everything is well combined and the butter is smooth.
- Grease a baking pan with softened butter. Flour with all-purpose flour and shake it well to evenly cover the pan with flour. Shake out any excess flour.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden. You can check if the cake is ready, inserting dry wooden stick into the cake in several places. If it’s coming out dry, the cake is baked thoroughly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 15-20 minutes, then remove from the pan.
